Hot in here

It seemed fitting that we made a play about climate change during one of the hottest summers of my lifetime. 

I discovered that devising is HARD. And you have to put so much of yourself into it. Tatenda devised with such poetry in the way they wrote, created and moved. Leanne's honesty and self belief was infectious and everyones work was better because of her presence. I feel so lucky that I got to work with them both!!! 

We got to learn so much and met so many inspiring activists. A highlight was Shami Chakrabarti coming to chat to us about protest laws.  

Hetty's integration of interviews with activists from around the world was sick and the 'blueprint' of the show which could be used again and again with any performers is something I hope schools use in the future.

I like the idea that it may not be the end for this show. And I am glad I never have to power the lights of the stage with that eleccy bike ever again.
